Post question for the fit people...
I'm really interested to hear what Mikey says about this.

If you guys that partake in fitness/body-building wouldn't mind... I'm wondering what your weight is and also where you come out on the BMI scale.

forking annoys the fork out of me when people (doctors, society, in-bred mommy pokers) bandy the term "obese" around.

forking BMI as far as I can see, is bollox when it comes to undividually accurate "readings".

I'd much rather have a low body-fat count than be my "suggested ideal weight" of 85kg (187lbs). Currently I'm about 255lbs - 116kg.

I know myscle weighs more than the same physical amount of fat.

I'm just reeeeeeeeeeeeally fucked off with the way "obesity" is thrown about like a net, catching a lot of people and giving them unnecessary flak, all because some prick somewhere took a backhander from the fashio, media, music and many more companies, in order to define what's "normal"

I'm wandering so will leave it there.

Hatch, the BMI is incredibly antiquated and doesnt really allow for folks with any sort of stockiness to them.

I'm currently 265+ lbs and 5 foot 9 inches tall when I stand really REALLY straight. According to the BMI, I should be in the area of 174 pounds or some such thing. You'd have a better chance of getting me to sprout wings out of my ass than of getting me down to 174 pounds without the use of AIDS.

I stopped worrying about that along time ago. Getting a body comp analysis done is the only way to go. there are various methods of achieving that but electrical impedence is probably the most readily available. Though hugely inaccurate it can help establish a baseline from which you can determine whether or not you're body compisition is changing in the desired direction.

Body weight means nothing. If you're 255 and 14% BF you're a hell of a lot more fit than someone whos 185 and 28% body fat.

DAYamn!!

And Mikey... Thanks for sharing the knowledge, man. For many years, I've been of the opinion that the BMI is bollox. It just really REALLY pisses me off that people in general accept it because they don't have the forking sense to look into things themselves. Then, when someone tries to explain (in baby terminology) what the deal is...

Getting angry again.

I forkin' hate the prick that sits behind me.

Thanks for the offer but if this stain gets wiped up, I'll be the one holding the cloth...

'course...

He'll be "number two" as the glorified receptionist holds the number one spot. The general manager is at number three.

Then, it's pretty much a "free for all" on anyone that gets in my way or tries to ring the cops etc.

Not that I've been contemplating/planning this spree for the past year or so...

*cough cough*

13 and a half stone. Strictly speaking obese, but I'm on my last belt notch.
