Post should I be running?
OK, so I've embarked on a program to get bigger and stronger. I can see that I'm nowhere near as muscular as I'd like to be. The problem is that I'm also carrying a bit of extra chub. I'm 6 foot tall and I weight 90kg- 198 pounds. I also lack the ability to run very well. I don't look hugely fat in the mirror, just a bit of a belly. I bench press about 67.5kg (148 pounds minus the bar) for 5, and squat 80kg (176 lbs, again minus the bar) for 5. So clearly, I need to carry on squatting, benching, pressing and deadlifting. The thing is, I don't want to be fat anymore. I've thought about adding a couple of days running. But I've read on startingstrength.com that running will cut into my recovery ability and hinder my strength gains, and that seems to be the consensus. I've considered (and actually done) some sprinting, but I'm told that spriting will tax my recovery abilities even more than jogging will.
So should I add in some cardio, or just keep adding the pounds to my lifts?

a little cardio like running on leg days isnt a bad idea. Mostly the important thing is to give yourself time. as the muscle increases so too will your metabolism. As THAT increases your BF% will decline. Remember you didnt put that fat on in a week so it wont come off in a week. Just keep to the program you have, be diligent, lay off the drink and it'll come.

hadn't even occured to me. In THAT case, I'll keep lifting as my main priority.

Just my .02 cents, but since I started working out with a FABULOUS PT my metabolism has sky rocketed to great heights. So from a good solid workout and eating right that metabolism will just skyrocket! Especially after a workout I am totally hungry and want to scarf down some food. This is just from what I have noticed these past couple of weeks.
